By Dr. Martin Kilbridge

I want to take this opportunity to share with you progress we are making on developing the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. I am excited about the process and look forward to sharing the final result which will provide a vision for our common future as a school dedicated to “empowering generations of courageous, faith-filled women to be skillful builders of a better world.”

In the fall we invited all our stakeholders to contribute to a survey and held on-campus listening sessions conducted by our consultants at Carney, Sandoe & Associates. The consultants then worked with our Steering Committee to refine the broad outlines of a plan to address our collective hopes and dreams for the future. In December, the draft of the Strategic Plan was shared with the Board of Trustees. The trustees made revisions which were incorporated into the document. The trustees approved the revised draft at Monday’s Board meeting. It will now go to Implementation Teams to develop action steps.

The Strategic Plan has four areas of focus:

  • Telling the AHN Story: communicating to members of the wider Capital Region the value of a Holy Names education for their daughters.
  • Financial Sustainability: ensuring the exceptional current programming and ambitious plans for our future are supported.
  • Program Excellence and The Student Experience: expanding opportunities in the Arts and Sciences and ensuring we continue to recruit and retain talented educators across all academic departments.
  • Mission and Values: strengthening our identity and values through robust spiritual programming and by implementing comprehensive strategies to assure accessibility for families who may not be able to afford an AHN tuition.

I look forward to sharing a comprehensive vision for our future sometime in March.

I thank all those who contributed to the work so far: those who filled out the survey and participated in the listening sessions, the Steering Committee, especially Heather Bennett P ’14, ’21,  and the Board of Trustees.
