Margaret O’Connor White ’93

Margaret was a school record holder in the long and triple jump. Her best jumps are still among the best ever recorded in Section II.

Jordan White ’08

Set outdoor track school record in the 400m hurdles, and in the 600m and the 800m in indoor track and as a member of the All-America distance medley relay team and the 4X1500m relay.

Jen Smith Wade ’03

Two-time MVP and Captain at AHN. Led soccer team with goals and assists as a senior. Selected three times to the 1st team Colonial Council team; Sectional player of the year; First team NYS All-Star.

Leah Triller ’14

NYS Champion in the 800m and 1000m; Won numerous league, sectional and invitational championships in both track and cross country; Member of the 2012 state championship team in cross country; Member of championship winning relay teams in track.

Mary Ann Roche Hurd ’54

A most exceptional player on the varsity basketball team during her three years of eligibility, Mary Ann was elected captain her senior year.

Kristin McCoy ’07

A three-sport athlete, Kristin was a member of 2006 softball team as well as the basketball team that finished second in Section II in 2007. She received the Marini Memorial Scholar Athlete Award and was a Capital Region Basketball scholar in 2007.

Catherine Maloy ’13

Led cross country team to NYS Championship, finishing 3rd individually. Won numerous league, sectional and invitational championships in track and cross country. Member of championship winning relay teams in track.

Constance Pogue Williams ’88

Set seven indoor and outdoor track records. Set times in the 100m, 200m, and 400m ranked her in the top five all-time list in Section II.

Kathleen Anastasio Wiley ’94

A Times Union basketball All-star, she was selected team co-MVP her senior year. Kathleen was named to the league’s all-star team in 1993 and 1994

Deborah Vuolo Wheeler ’92

A standout on the volleyball court and softball diamond, Deborah threw no-hitter and three shutouts junior year, leading team to 12-3 record. She could also hit, averaging .325 over three years.

Kelly Casey Tynan ’91

Member of 1990-91 basketball team, which went 19-1 en route to sectionals and a league title. Kelly also excelled at soccer, where she was the “quarterback” of the varsity team for three years, playing central midfielder.

Linda Spence Trainor ’89

Her school records in the 1500m and 3000m stood for many years. As a senior, she won the Colonial Council cross-country championship and earned a place on the Colonial Council All-Star team for placing top-ten in the league.

Michele Sullivan ’86

Track, Soccer. Recipient of Howard C. Nolan Athlete of the Year Award, 1986. League MVP in soccer. School record-holder in 400, 600, 800m long jump, and triple jump.

Alexa Smead ’08

Troy Record All-Area Offensive Player of the Year in Lacrosse in ’08, finishing as goals and points leader in Section II with 108 goals and 115 points. Scored 95 points with 86 goals in ’07 season.

Mia Simone ’06

One of the best soccer goalies in NYS, Mia recorded 480 saves, did not allow a goal to be scored in 38 consecutive games, and scored three goals by taking penalty kicks.

Jillian Sherman ’02

League and sectional champion in indoor and outdoor track as sprinter and long jumper. Her jump is among best ever recorded in Section II. Won NYS Championship in long jump junior year.

Erin Shea ’95

This tennis star was the number one player her entire career at AHN, and was instrumental in her team’s winning its first league championship.

Annalisa Tebano Schraa ’96

A 1000 point career scorer, she helped lead AHN to two league basketball championships. Annalisa was also named Player of the Year by the Daily Gazette and league MVP.

Agnes Mulderry Schiano ’53

Widely admired for her ability to play basketball long before women’s sports came into their own. In the early year’s of AHN’s basketball program, she stood out as a star.

Brooke Rutnik ’99

During her MVP season, Brook led AHN basketball to a 20-5 record as team captain. Member of 1999 league championship team that advanced to the league finals. Received multiple selections to Times Union and league all-star teams.

Emily Russell-Selsky ’00

Scored winning goal to beat number-one ranked team in NYS in regional soccer championship game. League and state all-star and member of team that won league, sectional, and regional championships.

Amy Smith Roberts ’92

Set records in the 500m, 400m hurdles, and the 4x400m relay, and took home a sectional championship in the 600m in indoor track.

Jessica Mulson ’01

A league and state all-star in soccer; Competed in 100m and 400m hurdles and was first Holy Names athlete to compete in inaugural pole vault event in New York State.

Devon Russell Minocchi ’00

League and state all-star in soccer and member of team that won league, sectional, and regional championships.

Martha Connors Minahan ’63

Led AHN varsity basketball team to 12-0 record from 1959 to 1963. Her record 52 points in a game set the bar in scoring.

Joan Lipscomb ’87

Howard C. Nolan Athlete of the Year Award Winner, 1987. Set school record in the 400, 600, and 800m at the NYS qualifiers.

Michelle Lavigne ’93

The soccer player garnered many awards including: Holy Names MVP, Colonial Council All-Star, Section II All-Star, and in her senior year, and Colonial Council leading scorer

Laura Lavigne Jaroch ’90

Led her soccer teams to four sectional semi-finals. She was named to the Colonial Council All-Star soccer team and was also awarded the Holy Names Most Valuable Player award.

Anne Hessberg ’02

Member of league, sectional, and regional championship soccer team as eighth grader. Won 800m, 3200m relay at NYS Championships. Set ninth grade record in 1000m. Helped cross country team win sectionals.

Kathleen Powers Herrick ’59

Remembered for organizing and prodding everyone into playing basketball. Her love for the game, her zest and enthusiasm during her playing years made the games of the late fifties memorable ones.

Claire Hardwick ’08

A member of the cross country team that won the NYS Championship, Claire also was a NYS champion in the 1500m on the track. She set indoor track school records in the 3000m, and earned All-America status as a member of the distance medley relay team.

Shannon Quinlivan Haggerty ’00

Led basketball team to 1999 league championship. League MVP: Named All-Area Second-Team by Daily Gazette, Times Union, and Troy Record.

Carol Glatz ’84

A member of the first track team at Holy Names, she set high standards for herself and worked tirelessly to achieve them. She held school records in numerous events, one of which stood for ten years.

Emily Gottstein Frey ’04

Led AHN to first sectional title in basketball. Received first team selection honors in junior and senior year. Received multiple player of the year awards in 2004, and was named 1st Team All-State. Finished career as 1000 point scorer.

Kathleen Devane Fouracre ’85

A dedicated and talented basketball player, Kathleen not only learned how to play well and function as a member of a team, but she was able to develop a strong sense of self and pride in her individual contributions to the team.

Julie Platt Farlow ’93

Exceptional shortstop with .450 batting average. Led the team in runs and home runs. Member of 1990-91 basketball team, which went 19-1 en route to sectionals and a league title.

Gail Young Dollar ’64

An aggressive but fair competitor, she was the heart of a basketball team which never lost a game during her four years.

Danielle Doemel ’99

League all-star in three sports (soccer, basketball, softball). Sectional and regional champion in soccer, and was also named a sectional all-star first team and to the All-State team.

Elizabeth Maloy DeBole ’03

Sectional and NYS champion and medalist in cross country and track. Won NYS championships in indoor and outdoor 1500m and as member of 3200m relay team. Set league records in 1000m and 1500m.

Beth Ann Coffey Darling ’93

Perhaps best known for her skill on the basketball court, Beth also developed into one of the best high-jumpers in the Colonial Council.

Celine Coy ’88

As a junior high basketball player, Celine helped lead AHN to back-to-back CYO championships.

Gabrielle Doemel Coffey ’02

A three-sport athlete (basketball, softball, soccer), Gabrielle captained her basketball team to the league championship and was a multiple time league all-star.

Nicole Herring Clemens ’96

Two-time NYS medalist in 1500m and first AHN track athlete to win NYS medal. League and sectional champion in indoor and outdoor track.

Tricia Campano Chizek ’94

The softball standout started every game for four years, batting an astounding .523 her junior year — .460 for the duration.

Carlene Costello Capuano ’93

AHN’s best distance runner, Carlene was a league and sectional champion multiple times, helping the indoor track team win its first sectional championship. She held school records in the 1500m and 3000m.

Kristen Cahill ’04

Captain of ’04 sectional championship basketball team. Member of All-Tournament Team and named Tournament MVP. MVP of 2003 Albany High and AHN Tournaments. 2003 first team and sectional all-star team selections in soccer.

Michelle Collins ’88

Two-time Colonial Council MVP and basketball standout. Her soccer team’s leading scorer and set the school record for career goals scored.

Meagan Breen ’97

Cheerleading captain led her team to first place in Colonie Cheerleading Invitational. Selected as Athlete of the Week in 1996, and named NCA All American in 1994, 1995, and 1996.

Alicia Marini Bloom ’02

Led cross country team to first Colonial Council championship. Member of 3200m relay team which helped give AHN its first NYS track championship in 1999.

Pamela Birnbach ’87

Two-time NCA All-Amerian cheerleader; multi-time Best Cheerleader award at regional competitions; Two-time MVP and captain for varsity softball.

Suzanne Pillsworth Becker ’87

League champion in shot put and second place in sectionals. In basketball, perennial double-double achiever in scoring/rebounds.

Christine Iseman Arms ’99

League, sectional, and regional champion in soccer. Sectional scholar athlete in basketball. League all-star in softball. League champion and part of first AHN state champion 3200m relay team.

Kathy Wallace

Physical Education teacher; Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, JV Soccer coach.

Barry Willard

Basketball coach in the Lower and Middle School from 1991-1995. Along with Ron Musto, established and co-chaired the pre-season Junior basketball tournament. Served as vice president, then president of Booster Club, and chaired the club’s Golf Tournament.

Mary Anne Vigliante ’64

Central force behind emergence and growth of AHN athletics during her tenure as principal, and later head of school.

Former JV soccer, varsity volleyball, varsity basketball, and varsity softball Coach; AHN’s Physical Education Chair.

John O’Sullivan

Assistant Coach for Lacrosse; Scorekeeper; Announcer; Jack of all trades always willing to lend a helping hand.

Frank O’Brien

Initiated soccer field project and gathered parent group which enabled its financing and completion.

Ron Musto

Coached the fifth and sixth grade basketball team from 1992-98. Administered Lower School basketball program from 1994-1998. Established third and fourth grade basketball clinics.

John Maloy, Jr.

Provided much of the manpower necessary for upgrading soccer field.

Kathy Lavigne

The “ultimate soccer mom and AHN fan,” Kathy possessed the kindest heart and most willing set of hands as Booster Club vice president.

Christopher Kranick

Cross-Country Coach 1991-2005; Led AHN to eight league and four sectional championships, as well as two second place finishes in the state. Named sectional Coach of the Year in 2005, leading the Cross Country team to a state title.

James Korniak

First Booster Club President who used his skill and talent to enhance quality of outdoor sports facilities, building both the concession booth and the soccer scoreboard.

Joseph Hesch

Coached AHN Junior basketball team in 1993. Though only winning one game its first season, the team learned enough to beat two of four in a post-season tournament and bring the B Division trophy home to Holy Names.

David Coffey

As Booster Club president, he brought prominence and effectiveness to the fundraising arm of AHN’s athletics program.

Carlo Cherubino

Led AHN outdoor and indoor track and field and cross-country teams to more than 60 state, sectional, and league titles. Also tallied 303 sectional wins, four league titles, two sectional titles, and one regional championship in soccer, in addition to two Coach of the Year honors.

Sr. Constance Casey

With Sister Connie’s vision, ANH became a member of the Colonial Council. She was instrumental in adding lacrosse, tennis, track, and cross country to the athletics program.

J. Michael Brennan

A former AHN trustee, Mike provided much of the equipment that “moved the earth.”

Paul Bearup

Basketball Coach 2000-2006; Led AHN to four consecutive league championships. Led 03-04 team to first sectional and regional title and appearance in state finals.

Helen Caulfield Spiro ’78

Former student athlete, teacher, and cheerleading coach. She brought her squads to the National Cheerleaders Association summer camps each year, where they received the Award of Excellence and bids to national competitions.

Joseph Anastasio

Two consecutive league basketball championships in undefeated seasons. Spanning three seasons, his teams’ record stood at 46-0 in league play.
