Dear Alumnae and Friends,

We write today to share exciting news that will impact Academy of the Holy Names today, and into the future. After a nationwide search for a president, the search committee and the Board of Trustees have unanimously selected Martin Kilbridge, Ed.D. to lead our community and continue a tradition of excellence that began 138 years ago.

Dr. Kilbridge’s impressive credentials and professional experience dovetail with the role of president. His first day on campus will be Tuesday, July 5, and he looks forward to learning about our special community from you.

He will be concluding four years of service as principal at Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women, a Rochester-based educational leader supporting a student body of more than 700. Prior to that position, he was principal at Siena Catholic Academy and has more than 30 years of experience as an educator, including 18 years as a theology teacher and department chair at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester.

Dr. Kilbridge received his Doctorate at the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education, a Master’s in Theological Studies from Harvard University’s Divinity School, and a Bachelor’s in History and Religious Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Kilbridge is prepared to lead Holy Names as it begins its 2022-23 academic year and builds upon its record of preparing young women for academic success and a lifetime of achievement and community involvement. He is fully committed to a model reflecting the values and faith traditions of the Academy, an educational environment for young women, and cultivating the resources that will ensure a vibrant future.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Kilbridge to our Holy Names community by extending your gracious spirit and prayers for success. A news release detailing Dr. Kilbridge’s selection will be issued next week.

Sincerely,

Christopher Edwards
