Part-time seasonal opening (fall/winter seasons) for a Modified Coach at Academy of the Holy Names (Albany, NY), the Capital Region’s only all-girls, private, Catholic, college-preparatory school for grades 6-12. Candidate must have experience coaching or participating in cheer. Include skill building, cheer basics, and routine choreography.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and develop fundamental cheerleading skills including motions, jumps, basic stunting, and beginner tumbling
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all athletes
- Choreograph and teach routines for games and showcases (choreography experience preferred)
- Emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence-building
- Plan and lead organized, productive practices
- Ensure athlete safety at all times and follow all school/league guidelines
- Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and school staff
Qualifications:
- Cheerleading experience (coaching or participation) required
- Strong knowledge of skill progressions and proper technique
- Routine choreography experience preferred
- Ability to motivate and connect with middle/high school athletes
- Organized, reliable, and energetic
