The Regional Food Bank “collects donated food from the food industry and distributes it to more than 1,000 partner agencies and programs feeding our neighbors in need. The food provided by the Regional Food Bank helps to feed over 355,000 people each month.” Georgia and Paulie hosted a glow-in-the-dark volleyball tournament to raise funds for the Food Bank. This entailed recruiting players, setting up the tournament, collecting prizes and entry fees. Additionally, they held a drive at school to collect non-perishable food items which were donated to the Food Bank. Lastly, both Georgia and Paulie volunteered at the Food Bank in Latham for several direct service hours where they sorted and repacked bulk donations. They raised awareness of food insecurity through an informational bulletin board at school.
