St. Catherine’s Center for Children is “dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and families in the region.”
Kayla and Mia organized a giving tree at AHN to benefit the children at St. Catherine’s. This was a major undertaking that demanded great organizational skills. Before setting up the tree, Kayla and Mia corresponded with representatives from St. Catherine’s and the administration team at AHN; they created tags detailing the gift wishes of each of the 140 children; they compiled a master list of the children’s wish lists; and they created an informational bulleting board and flyers raising awareness of St. Catherine’s mission, and explanation of their project. After the tree was set up, the tags were hung, and participants purchased the gifts Kayla and Mia organized a gift-wrapping party for the students at AHN. Before pick-up Kayla and Mia spent much time assuring that all tag requests were fulfilled, and if not, they personally shopped for the missing items.
